What is a Foot Health Practitioner (FHP) ?

A foot health practitioner is qualified to provide routine foot care and maintenance for you feet. A medical questionnaire and an initial assess of the condition of your feet is completed as well as an appropriate treatment plan set up.

Foot problems are very common and can affect all ages. Out feet are so important in allowing us to maintain mobility and a high quality of life. Having regular foot care to ensure this continues is something more and more people require.

If you have a medical diagnoses, such as diabetes, it is even more important to have your feet regularly seen by a FHP who can keep them well manifested and be aware of any changes that occur and may need further investigation or referral.

A FHP can help you, if you require help in reaching your feet, and would like assistance with nail cutting. Some nails do get particularly thick and hard to cut FHPs are skilled to deal with difficult nails, ingrowing nails, verruca, corns, callous and hard or cracked skin. FHPs are trained in practical skills and have also studied to gain a good understanding of the structure of the foot; the skin, the bones, the muscles and how it relates to the rest of the body.
